Pressed at a megalopolis in West Palm county. ReneAlvarez set me up with the place. They fucked up the label printing and you can't see that a chick is holding a sign stating "A peeled banana dipped in lemon juice will not turn dark." Andrew and Mari picked the green color.
Rodger did the layout and design of the artwork. He knew a place in the midwest that could print 5000 full color covers for what was supposed to be a cheap price. I don't remember how much it cost, so I'm not sure if it was a good deal or not. They did a good job of printing, but used the not quite final version. Rodger had put some finishing touches on the front cover , and the track numbering had changed. So starting at like track 4, the track listing doesn't correspond to the actual tracks. Rodger also designed artwork for the inside back cover which would be obscured by the CD tray. I suggested it be completely hidden, so Rodger worked white space into the design that ledt no indication any image was beneath the CD tray. I still imagine people ownig this CD for eyars without finding the hidden artwork.
The CD had originally been planned as Starcrunch's first release, but compiling the different recordings into a coheisve album took longer than anticipated. Bo is still very unhappy with the sound.
During the beginning of Starkrunch I was basically homeless, but had a room at Mari's parents' house that I could crash at most of the time. Mari was going on tour with KLS and I felt awkward staying at her parents when Mari was out of town. RobertPrice & PriyaRay offered to let mecrash at their apartment on West Trade while they were on tour. I took them ip on their mighty generous offer. I livedd in the KLS house for the next two years (first at West Trade then at Ohio Street). I worked my way up from a place on the living room floor, to the living room couch, to sharing a bedroom with Ivy & Buddah and eventually to my own room at Ohio Street.
I don't quite remember, but I think we got the covers back in time to catch up with KLS in Atlanta. I do remember assembling may CDs while drinking Light Brigade and watching Night On Earth while KLS was on tour. Amazingly, nobody else was crashing at the KLS house when I started staying there, which was pretty cool except for 2 incidents. First, I didn't know where the dumpster was located, so when PriyaRay & RobertPrice returned I had 2 garbage bags filled with empty beer cans in the front room. The second incident was my getting locked out for a few days. I had the key to the doorknob lock but not the master lock. The landlord had come by while I was at work and locked both of them. I spent a few nights in my CRX before getting the situation worked out.
Initially we pressed 1000 CDs and had 5000 covers printed. Since I was living out of my car, I kept the extra boxes of CDs and covers in there. While I was staying at West Trade one night, a crackhead broke into my car and threw a few of the boxes into the street. I have no idea how many CDs or covers were lost, but I would guess a couple hundred CDs were destroyed.
