Mari did not want to put this record out because she was not getting along with Ivy. I love this record. The sound is much rawer than the split with BlackFork, and I am glad that this documents that sound. It is much friendlier and warmer, even though it may not be as professional sounding. I shared a room with Ivy and Buddah at the West Trade apartment. We had adjoining rooms when we moved into Ohio St.
The song Clarissa is about Timmy's infatuation with Clarissa.
Ivy never liked to be on stage. She would always get down into the crowd and sing amongst her friends. I remeber one time at Squeeze (in Ft. Lauderdale) the sound guy kept flipping out on Ivy when she came offstage because of the feedback. Ivy didn't care, she didn't want to stay on the stage.
The front cover photo was taken outside the West Trade apartment. The Canadian flag was painted on a white sheet and the kids layed down on the sidewalk in front of the complex. PriyaRay took the photo.
ChuckLoose helped us get the covers together and I believe Walt from NoFraud printed the covers. Walt was a big help, easy to deal with and cheap. His company is Imprint and Starcrunch had as much printed there as we could. NoFraud were the grandpas in the Florida punk scene.
God, can you feel it in Ivy's vocals? Can you feel the words?
